The Critical Friend's Network aims to build a set of Effectice Practice Guidelines for:
- Critical Friends - clear & simple guidelines in relation to roles, job descriptions, principles to follow, links to project & programme outputs/models, dealing with different scenarios (such as project, conflict, management, personality issues), approaches & methodologies, fostering collaboration and team working, managing risk etc.
- Programme Sponsors - clear & simple guidelines for programme sponsors (e.g. JISC programme managers) on how to maximise the effectiveness of project CFs including guidelines for models and building project & programme manager engagement with CFs.
- Project Teams - clear & simple guidelines for project teams on how to maximise the effectiveness of the project CF.
Scope
The Guidelines cover areas such as:
- Understanding the role of the Critical Friend
- Setting up and facilitating relationships with projects
- Managing relationships with programme teams
- "Taking projects to Tibet"
